This summer, Kiddie Academy® participated in the Harford County Education Foundation’s annual school supplies drive: Stuff the Bus.
From July 21 to September 12, Kiddie Academy set up collection boxes across both corporate offices in Abingdon, Maryland and encouraged employees and staff to drop off things like folders, markers, crayons, notebooks, backpacks, and more. As a result, the team managed to gather and donate 134 school essentials for local students, educators and their classrooms.
The Stuff the Bus initiative tackles a critical issue: many students begin the school year without the essential supplies they need to fully engage in learning from day one. Ensuring children have what they need not only sets them up for success as soon as they enter the classroom, but it also helps them feel a sense of belonging that can help build confidence.
“A strong community starts with strong schools,” said Joy Turner, Vice President of Education. “Whenever there is an opportunity to support local schools and help students get what they need to succeed, we’re always eager to participate. Big thanks to the Harford County Education Foundation for spearheading this crucial initiative. We are continually grateful to be part of it.”
