Corporate Social Responsibility starts in the workplace. From our Kiddie Academy® Community Fund to holiday giveback programs, we take an intentional approach to our ongoing initiatives to ensure we are living up to our promise of prioritizing CSR both in our communities and here at our corporate office.
Kiddie Academy Community Fund
The Kiddie Academy Community Fund provides tax-free financial assistance to staff across the Kiddie Academy system who are facing unforeseen challenges. It is funded primarily through corporate, franchise owner, franchise employee, and vendor contributions and was founded to improve the wellbeing of the Kiddie Academy community. Volunteer Time Off (VTO)
Every year, our corporate staff is allotted 16 hours of volunteer time off, during which they are encouraged to spend a full workday contributing to a cause that is meaningful to them. We also offer a series of optional Community Days for our staff in partnership with local nonprofits including Habitat for Humanity, Harford Family House, and Chesapeake Therapeutic Family Riding. During 2024, corporate employees served 183 hours of VTO.
Mental Health Month
Each year, we give our staff an extra PTO day to use in May to recognize Mental Health Month. We also organize activities such as team walks during the workday and our Annual Cross-Country challenge to encourage staff to get outside, which can have a positive impact on mental health.
Holiday Give Back
During the holiday season, we encourage our staff to get involved in toy and food drives in partnership with Toys for Tots and Harford County Action Agency. In 2024, we donated 100+ items (or 238lbs) of canned/dry goods to Harford County Action Agency, and 50+ new toys to Toys for Tots. Our corporate matching program matches employee donations to a charity of their choice. Last year, we matched $700, supporting a variety of organizations including Family Promise, Otter Point Creek Alliance, TEVA Community and Camp Sunrise.
Random Acts of Kindness
Random Acts of Kindness is an initiative hosted by the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation that encourages people across the nation to focus on how they can spread kindness within their communities. In 2024, our corporate staff completed 55 random acts of kindness, and three lucky winners got a free PTO day to use anytime during the year.
